Apologies for writing this in English - its ok to reply in Swedish and apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere on the forum, but what are your opinions on sending expensive musical equipment through Bussgods?
I currently have a bass up for sale and a potential buyer who wants to use Bussgods. I would only want to send an item as expensive as this (14000kr) with adequate insurance, however, if my understanding is correct Bussgods would only pay out a MAXIMUM of 150kr per kg should they admit liability for an item being lost or damaged by them.
I see people willing to send equipment this way a lot, but for me it seems like a huge risk.

Personally I have stopped using Bussgods. But others swear by them.

I often use Bussgods.
Never had more problem with them then any other transport company.
The one time I hade damaged gods they quickly and fully compensated me for it.
Now they also have an extra insurence (By IF for like 25:-) that will cover any damage up to 20.000:-
I would not hesitate to use them.

I've used Bussgods a lot; never a problem with damaged goods. Only issue is the shipment takes some time and can travel hither and dither, but will arrive at destination in the end. Hurry? No Bussgods! Cheap and no hurry? Bussgods!

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm still uncertain about sending with Bussgods, but I will look into the extra insurance a little more. Dudel, I'm guessing you weren't given a tracking number with your bass?

UPS broke the case to my Lakland bass (the bass was okay, though). It was well wrapped in "bubble plastic" and then put in a cardboard box. Still, the case was broken. DPD/Postnord delivered a broken and open package with an Eden WT800B to me this week. I don't trust them at all. Postnord (old Posten) have no routine whatsoever to make good deliveries. Even if they have your email address or cell phone number, they do not contact you with delivery info, so the shipments can go back to the depot for delivery another day. F*ck them! The only big company that does the job correct has been FedEx this far. Bussgods hasn't broken a thing for me, just had them astray for a while...

None of the mentioned companies is 100% trustworthy.
Seriously, thheese companies all have their issues with staff not giving a shit if it´s a ming dynasty vase or an IKEA pillow in the boxes.
It´s a lottery.
I´ve had damaged goods twice with Bussgods, first time it was the sender who only packed it in the fakeleather gigbag and nothing more, the other time it was a hardcase (Gator/SKB-ish).
First time the sender took responsibility, and the second time Bussgods payed me money for value-loss etc etc.
This was before they had their "new" insurance.
I´d send it with Bussgods simply because it´s the cheapest alternative and the other companies isn´t a gurantee that it arrives in a better condition..

Yes, good point well made. No company is 100% reliable, that's why for me full and proper insurance is vital when sending valuable goods.
Roger - a similar thing happened to me a few years back, had a lovely old WEM valve bass combo sent over to me from England, it didn't arrive, the seller finally received it back some 4 weeks later saying it hadn't been claimed at my end. I received no notification from Posten - no letter, no SMS, nothing. When it finally landed on my neighbors doorstep some 7 weeks after buying it, the combo was not in a healthy state - cracked speaker cone, broken cabinet, and the amp head had slipped from its housing. I never bothered to claim compensation, I was just so relieved to have it. Probably spent twice as much getting the thing repaired again.

The watcher, i actually did get a track number, though it didnt help me at all since all it said on the webpage was that the buss had left hägersten and nothing more after that, it said so for about 2 weeks or so.
